We’ve been receiving a lot of ‘Hate’ lately. It’s just too much.
For everyone who has ever hated on our gs and ms, or Chris’ hat, or the angle of our lampshade, or other grammer, or the volume of our audio, or the misspellings, or the oh gasp.. she talks more than him.. or the the ‘you’re not worthy’ comments.. or the ‘ you’ve got a premium membership service.. you are shady’ comments… or ‘you’re not presenting my state fully’.. or.. whatever your complaint is with us…
You win. Good bye. For now.
Maybe we’ll back. Maybe we won’t.
But we’ve grown tired of sharing peeks of our personal lives with the public just be met with occasional thanks (while seeing other bloggers met with an outpouring of support), but a lot of criticism and ‘corrections’.
We need time for ourselves. As individuals. As a couple.

Morning Update:
I’m leaving the above intact and unedited. While it was influenced by too much wine last night, the end effects stand true this morning. And it’s raw, and authentic.
We need to take a break and re-focus on ourselves.
We know there are way more of you who love and appreciate us than criticize. And we know that it is our own internal happiness & balance that does not allow us to see that as clearly right now. Yes, ‘haters are going to hate’ – but right now, we just don’t have the strength to keep a smile on our faces.
We appreciate your understanding in that. Thank you for having traveled along thus far. I do suspect we’ll be back in some form.

11/5 @ 6pm : Holy Guacamole… we are completely humbled by the comments, emails and reach outs this post has generated. We never expected it, and didn’t post to solicit accolades. But do know we are reading each and every one of them, and you are melting our hearts. We are taking some time to take care of ourselves. And we really appreciate your support in that (not that we need anyone’s approval).
Yes, we do delete & ban the negativity, and hardly ever respond to it. That’s why you don’t see it. It comes in from so many directions.. and to get to that delete button, we have already read the comment. On good days, it passes right by. But it does add up over time.
PS. We are continuing to post mobile internet news and assist our members over at RVMobileInternet.Com. Our premium membership group, Mobile Internet Aficionados, remains unchanged and we are actively assisting our members there.
RVMobileInternet will be our only non-personal focus for the time being while we are on social media hiatus. We have stepped back from all other obligations so that we can take care of ourselves.

I’ve enjoyed your content and appreciated the work you’ve put out here but ultimately, you have to decide where your path lies. Create for yourselves if you’re inspired to create at all, but don’t do it for anyone else. If you do, it’s the same as working for “the man” and we Technomads don’t play in that sandbox.
Ken Kaahanui says
OK, I get that you want to take a break, as the only HAWAIIAN on your blog it is my Kuliana ( duty) to help out. All of those people hating on you send them my email address or send me theirs. I will have a little heart to heart.
Besides I only follow two blogs, if you guys quit then what the hell am I going to read.

Thanks for all you have shared and the insights you have given us on technology! Be happy, safe and fun travels, give each other a hug and go forward with your lives and travels to where ever they will bring you! HUGS TO U BOTH!

I am so sorry to hear about your current situation…I would to say thank you for your articles and videos…I have learned so much about RVing from you two and hope you will return soon…was really looking forward to your next webcast but that’s okay…good luck and take care

Oh for pete’s sake readers, If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say it at all. Thanks Techno for all your hard work on your blog. I enjoy it very much and have learned a lot.

I’ve been following you guys since pretty close to the beginning, back in the Oliver days. I follow your technical articles with great interest. I’m a ham radio type guy and the knowledge you have imparted has helped me make decisions on equipment to purchase for my coach. Solar, wifi amplifiers, cellular amplifiers etc. I understand your frustrations, but will miss your posts. I’m currently boondocking in Quartzsite and will be here until February. It is because of your posts that I am able to comfortably dry camp. Thanks for all you have done in the past and all you will do in the future.
Michael Shepp says
I am sorry to see you leave. I have enjoyed your blog immensely although I have never made a comment before now. I wish both of you the very best and I hope that you come back in time

Long time lurker and buyer of your book, but haven’t been a poster here….until today. I don’t do social media as I find it contains too much negativity most of the time. That said, I should have left you a big THANK YOU a long time ago. My wife and I are migrating to a fulltime lifestyle while working on the road and it comes largely based on your blog. (Over the past year in a 5th wheel ‘park hopping’ – migrating to a true off the grid motorhome setup this weekend). We require connectivity to work. We like to wild camp. You are THE source and experience for that kind of data as you’ve lived this life and went to the school of hardknocks for the rest of us. You are a wealth of knowledge and I find your videos and posts both polished and ‘real’. I feel like I’m visiting with you in your living room – and I love that about your blog. For those that haven’t and have an interest in staying connected while on the road – buy their book. Worth the investment at 2x the price…
A break is a good thing if you need it – but know you have an audience, maybe more silent than we should be at times, that truly appreciates your blog.
We are picking up our RV this Saturday with full solar package and we hope to someday meet you on the road. The wine is on us.

Knowing your strengths and weaknesses is one of the most valuable assets any of us can have. Setting your boundaries is absolutely priceless. Thanks for being transparent with us. Take care of yourselves and I hope we’ll see you back again.

I just found your blog a few months ago and have really enjoyed it and am grateful for all your advice and information. I hate to sound selfish but I hope you don’t take too long a break. There a lot of us out here who are grateful to you two and all the helpful info you share. I don’t have the money to join a lot of sites and I really appreciated that you were taking the time to share your knowledge with me. I sincerely thank you for that. Take care and I sure hope to see you again someday.
Kuderer Joe says
I’ve always enjoyed your posts and appreciated you sharing your experiences and wisdom. Taking a break to get away and refocus is always a good thing. Hope to see you come back, but if you don’t, keep on enjoying your adventures.

Thank you for being here as long as you have. We learned a lot from you and sent many other people to your blog for answers to their questions. I hope you will return here someday.
James Dun says
You have given of yourselves. You tell us about new products. You put yourselves on video. If someone is unhappy with your blog all they have to do is click with their mouse and they don’t have to read or watch you.
I hope that you will return and keep aggravating those who do not like what you are saying.
Kentster says
Oh dear!! I love your posts. It’s a fresh perspective. Hard to be a lightning rod sometimes. Do take care of yourselves as you guys have a special niche for many of us and provide valued services. Rest and refresh.

I totally understand. Life is too short. I will miss your posts – they were my vicarious way of getting on the road full-time (before I can actually do so!). The information you’ve shared has been inspirational for my husband and I and I hope we cross paths someday!

I understand where you’re at. Been there. It is hard to be giver all the time. I think givers are sensitive which is a gift, but overload can occur. Our society has bred many who think they are entitled to free info rather than appreciate the free info. Many do appreciate you guys. It is hard to be sensitive and thick skinned at the same time but that is what it takes. I’m currently on break too 🙂

I’m not even an RV’er (yet!) but I absolutely loved everything you two put out. There was a bus conversion parked on the side of the road to my job, and the first morning I saw it, I was wondering, “Is that Technomadia?!” I was feeling as one would when sighting a celeb! Hey if you need a break, take one! Everybody else does!! Surprised beyond surprised that anyone would send any negative vibes your way, after as generous, informative, and just plain fun you have been. Big boos to them Excellent booze to you! Enjoy! That’s what your lessons teach!! Come back any time. We (your many fans) will be delighted.

This is my first time commenting. I want to say THANK YOU for all that u have shared. My husband and I are not full timers yet, but we r planning on it. And so look forward to it. We have learned alot from u both and have very much enjoyed watching and listening to u. Thank you, thank u.
Yes u need to take a break if it is upsetting u more then u r enjoying. My husband and I will miss u but we understanf. We wish only the best for u both in your future. We will keep an eye out for u in the future. And one day hope to meet u both in person. Enjoy life and God Bless u both.
John says
Hate to see you go, even a little. Caroline and I do read your blog, though seldom post anywhere. It takes a LOT to “put yourself out there”, and my 2 responses to complainers would be: 1). “thanks, but you are now DELETED”; and 2). a link to wordpress (or whatever you use) blog site, and a “SHOW US HOW IT’S DONE!” challenge, complete with VERY highly scrutinized reviews.
Recharge … and we will still be here – waiting for the next installment.
You just can’t please everyone, and there are countless idiots all too eager to criticize, but without the NERVE to do anything themselves. It is harder than you make it look.
Thanks so much for what you have already done; looking forward to the refreshed posts!

I truly hope you’ll be back! I discovered your blogs and videos after we purchased our first tiny RV back in March and you have provided much more support and encouragement than you’ll ever know! Best wishes!

Cherie and Chris,
I have never commented on any of your posts or videos before this as I am a bit shy. I love your stuff! I love your attitudes on life and travel and work. I am still stuck in my sticks and brick but my SO and I are working towards what you guys do. We live vicariously through your content. I understand why you are taking a break but I do hope that you will resume sharing your lives when you are ready.
I just wanted to show you guys some love, maybe help counteract some of the hate. Be well and live fully.
Joanne Parkes says
Have greatly appreciate all the information you freely shared about your travels and learned oh so much from you. Hope you enjoy the break of feeling the pressure to blog and from receiving so many negative comments (don’t understand why anyone would be critical of such great advice you’ve shared). Hope you’ll find a way to be back someday!

Remember you can’t soar with the eagles if you are hanging out with turkeys…..Please ignore the turkeys . You deserve a break ,but I wish I could give you the armor to be free of the (ignorant) turkeys…Relax and I hope you are recovered soon, we need your good work!!!!

So sorry to hear you’ve been beaten into submission….nobody deserves it less…you two are terrific and have been a real inspiration to me in my aspirations to become a full-timer! Charge up! I’ll be happy to see you return whenever you’re ready!
Thanks for all you’ve done already.

They don’t hate you they hate themselves and what there lives have or have not become. They are not happy unless everyone is as miserable as they are. I have watched this happen to so many people who share their time and knowledge and I am sorry it has happened to you. YouTube needs to stop the anonymity and make everyone use their real identity. Keep doing what you do and enjoy your life. Happy Trails!
Kim B. says
Wow. I don’t know what happened, but I’m sorry that something unpleasant did. I’m one of those people who LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your blog and have never said thank you. Perhaps too little too late, but thank you. I can’t imagine how much time and energy it takes to maintain this blog with as much factual information as you always include, and I have always appreciated that you were willing to do that. Hubby and I are planning to dive into this lifestyle next year (with zero prior RVing experience!) and your blog has been one of my main sources of inspiration and information. I hope you can and will come back, but if you don’t, I hope we get to meet out on the road some day.

Hey guys, I fully understand needing a break, I need one today after entertaining a high maintenance person for only 48 hours.
Too many of us take your good nature for granted and don’t comment on any of your posts. I know I read and file info but fail to tell you how much I appreciate all the time and effort you put in week after week.
Take the break but please don’t think about going away for too long. You’re much too loved by this community to allow a bunch of mean mouthed people to drive you away!
Jerry Minchey says
This just goes to prove that you can’t give some people enough to make them happy. With all of the valuable time and information you provide, I think you should make this a subscription site and charge for access. People who pay to be members won’t be sending you many hateful comments. If they do, just cancel their membership.
Like so many other people have said here, I didn’t take the time in the past very often to tell you how much I appreciate your time and information.
Valerie McBride says
I LOVE you both. Seriously, I live vicariously through your nomadic life. When your posts arrive in my inbox, I stop everything to read it. THANK YOU for sharing your amazing life with us!
I wish you absolute rest and recovery, joy in the little things, and great, big, chunks of happiness at every turn.
Miss you already, Valerie

We are grateful for the valuable, meaningful and honest information you have shared. I know we join thousands of others when we say that this is a great loss and will be a highly missed resource…but we totally respect your decision and hope way more good things are in store for you as your venture down this crazy path called “life.” We think the world of you both!
Lynne says
Add two more to the list of “sorry to hear”….. we are new subscribers and sorry to hear that people have been so unkind…. Hope the wine was good last night and you get a nice break. Hope to see you on the road and back blogging.

I’m so sorry that some coward choose to hide behind the relative anonymity of the keyboard, and spew negativity. You surely don’t deserve that. I’ve read ALL of your posts, from “before Chris” to now, and appreciate your knowledge, your willingness to share that knowledge freely, and your ability to develop a life-sustaining business that allows you to live YOUR life in the manner YOU choose.
I hope you find a way to continue to share your adventures with us all. We hope / expect to be on the road within six months, and hope we can continue to learn from your experiences.
Wishing you peace and recharging of your batteries. May serendipity guide you to the next step, and bring you joy.

I’ve enjoyed reading your posts without sending any comments. Sorry you’re “leaving” but I understand. I hope you’ll be back.
rvsueandcrew says
Hi, Chris and Cherie,
One of my readers mentioned bloggers taking a break or possibly quitting their blog. I responded as follows and put it here as a message to you. I’m sorry you have been attacked.
“I can relate to the bloggers who have to get away for a while or who give up blogging altogether because of mean-spirited, small-minded, critical people who write un-helpful, hateful comments. Very often those comments come under a name that reveals nothing about the writer. It’s very telling that those who reveal the least about themselves are quick to criticize those who reveal a lot.
Gratitude is the foundation for happiness. You express gratitude to me for my blog which tells me you have the capacity for happiness. Trolls don’t have that. They’re pathetic really, spreading the unhappiness that dwells within them.”
Rest, relax, refresh, relish the presence of each other, and remember all that has been good!
Best wishes, Sue

I hope you return one day. I enjoy your content and your videos. I will miss them. God bless.

Can’t for the life of me figure out why anyone would be so negative to you guys or anyone else…..you are doing something many of us wish we could do, but don’t have the capability (yet!). Enjoy your time away from the jerks…it will give me time to read more of your stories since I just found you a few months ago. Thanks for all you do and if we ever meet up, I have wine 😉
Andy says
Sorry you feel that way, I do understand and hope someone has learned that sharing all the bumps and bruises along the way is called life. God bless you and keep you

I’ll be here watching for updates when you do return. I’ve learned so much from what you posted. Have a nice break! The haters are jerks!

I can relate, I am a IT project manager for a large National company and like you both, I am very upbeat and share freely my knowledge. There are a small percent of people that excel at making negative comments that can deflate others and leads me to wanting to retire early. I am convinced that in every walk of life there are others who are miserable with their life that they make it a point to bring down others.
Every so often I also need to walk away for a bit (fortunately I get a lot of vacation time to do my passion – camping). I can understand the need for you to get away from the ”negs”. It drags one down.
I have read every post you have done.I hope you come back, but I am glad you were so honest to share why you need a break. You have had a tremendous impact on my passion for the nomad life, gear to purchase, where you have stayed etc. via your blog.
Note to self; let others know how much they mean to me and the value I get from their sharing.
Beth Marks says
I don’t think I have ever commented on your site before but have used your insight and information and I thank you. So sorry to hear about the negative comments you have received, pathetic! We are getting closer to jumping into the FT RV life and you guys are one of our biggest influences. we will continue to use the resources you have so graciously shared with the world, for FREE! Thanks again and hope we meet on the road someday.

Totally understandable. Enjoy taking time for yourself. Don’t worry about those that want to criticize. Many of us enjoy hearing from you. I especially loved your bus mod entries and videos. If at some point you feel you want to return, there will be many of us who would love to hear from you.

Take care of yourselves! I’ve been following you guys for over a year, watch your videos, am a member of MobileInternetA’s, and just enjoy your dynamics. I hope all the positive comments here will help recharge your flagging spirits. Selfishly I enjoy your blog and videos too much to let you stop without a little protest. Hopefully a little time away will bring you back. Good luck and my positive thoughts are with you
Chris says
Thank you so much for sharing all your knowledge. We have certainly enjoyed them all but unfortunately have never commented. A lesson here to me is make sure the good bloggers we enjoy know about it and the good comments outnumber the turkeys that are so negative. We will certainly miss you. Take care

We so appreciate your sharing of the knowledge you have gained as it will surely make our lives easier when we join you two on the road in the near future.
We hope to meet up with our favorite Celebrities some day.
Take care & enjoy life!!!

Don’t let the easy to write words of the internet get you down. It’s the main place people dump their emotions these days. It’s meaningless and one shouldn’t let it get to them (as impossible as that may seem).

In the words of my favorite Beatle, “imagine all the people, living life in peace”. Peace be with you and all that you do. Thanks for having shared your knowledge and lives with us. Hope to see you all down the road of life. Enjoy!
Mark says
I can only echo all the positive comments you have received here. Don’t let the dregs get you down. Unfortunately there are a lot of miserable people who want to bring others down. All you can do is say a prayer for them and move on to the positive. I follow several blogs and yours is one I check every day. Your provide valuable information to those of us who RV and those who may want to. The people who appreciate what you do far outnumber the trolls. Take a break, but make it a short one.
Thank you for what you do.

Oh, so sorry to hear this. My husband and I have been following your blog for a few years now. I feel bad now that we never gave any well deserved props and left too much room for the haters!
