A Nomad, much like a Wizard, arrives precisely when they are meant to. They are never late, nor are they early.
2016 was a pretty well darn balanced year for us, after the tumultuous year prior. We had successfully reset, and enjoyed a year of discovery by RV and multiple alternate adventures by cruise ship and train.
We minimized our commitments that involved schedules, turned down multiple speaking engagements and just focused on what we wanted to do.
With a focus on just one business and now having a growing team to help us, we had more open time for our pursuit of hapiness.
We traveled mostly without a plan and without stress. We even explored new territory by roaming for the first time around the northeast. This photo at an absolutely magical location and story in the Adirondaks.
After nearly 10 years into this nomadic journey, we each finally crossed into our individual 50th state (we still need to visit Hawaii together to claim the milestone as ours).
We arrived when we did.
If we were meeting up with someone, we gave them a best general guess.
Much like tracking a hurricane, as the location and time grew closer, the precision of accuracy of our arrival honed in.
This summer? July? Mid-July? Mid-week? Wednesday afternoon? See you in an hour!
We had mastered this RV nomadic thing. We found.. no… I think it’s safe to say at this point, created balance.
And what does one do when they master something? They shake it up. We resumed secretly shopping for our next adventure – a boat. By the end of the year we had met Y-Not.
2016 wasn’t really the year we learned this lesson. But it was the year we can say we truly lived in the time zone we had actually coined during our beginning years on the road.
NST, or Nomadic Standard Time.
The art and mindset of being precisely where and when you are meant to so you can optimize for serendipity while still responsibly meeting commitments.
